He will gather them
ALL together.
Not just the
Americans.
Or the Brits.
Or the Africans.
Or the Mexicans.
Or the rich.
Or the megastars.
Or my family.
Or . . .
Nope. All.
Every. Single. One.
"When he finally arrives, blazing in
beauty and all his angels with him, the Son of Man will take his place on his
glorious throne. Then all the nations will be arranged before him (all the nations will be gathered before him) and he will sort the people out, much as a
shepherd sorts out sheep and goats, putting sheep to his right and goats to his
left."
When Jesus comes back
to rule on THIS earth, the ONLY distinction he, the Son of God and Son of Man,
will make is NOT what your skin color is or where you were born or lived or
whether you had wealth or power or whether you are male or female. These are
not what matter on that day. The ONLY thing that will matter is this:
I was thirsty and you gave me a drink,
I was homeless and you gave me a room,
I was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit,
I was in prison and you came to me.
This here.
Matters.
These actions.
Matter.
Giving food and drink
Giving home
Giving clothes
Giving time
Community.
These are what matter.
To God
Should matter
To us.
Father, forgive us
We know not what we are doing
to your family
your creation
your dreams
your name.
